State Squad

Purpose:

The State Squad program provides competitive Training program aimed at competing at State level in competitive swimming, surf lifesaving or triathlon. The State Squad caters for children aged primarily 12 to 16 years. 

Competitions:

Swimmers should be members of the LeFevre Portside Swimming Club. Swimmers should compete in the various State Qualifying meets set out by their Coach each season. In these meets swimmers should endeavor to achieve State Qualifying times in order to compete at South Australian State Championships.

Equipment:

Swimmers must have their own drink bottle, goggles, flippers, pull-buoy, kickboard and snorkle at every training session.

Training Sessions:

Swimmer in State Squad will undergo a training program aimed at achieving their best competitive results.  Swimmers are encouraged to compete and will train in all competitive strokes.  Swimmers must be prepared to do 5-6 sessions per week, 2 of which must be morning sessions.

Progression:

Swimmers in State Squad may progress to the National Target Squad if they can complete:
