Time Trial Competitions

These are hosted by the LeFevre Portside Swimming Club on the first Wednesday of the month, in place of a training session. Everyone in the club participates from Junior Squad through to the National Squad. For younger swimmers these nights are an excellent introduction to racing, where coaches are at hand to offer advice and there is a “no-pressure” fun atmosphere. Senior swimmers have the opportunity to practice race skills, gauge training improvements and develop their leadership skills with the younger swimmers.

Time Trials begin with a short warm-up. There are a series of events to pick from at each Time Trial with swimmers able to enter a maximum of 3 events. Swimmers are encouraged to try different events and distances at Time Trials building their versatility as a swimmer.

Swimmers need to nominate for Time Trials using entry cards. For Club members, you earn points every time you compete and/or make a PB. At the end of the swim year, these points are totalled and a winner is announced at the presentation night. The entry forms (3 for $1.00) are available from the front desk at Portside Swim & Leisure Centre and once completed should be placed inside the nomination box.

Events marked in red are Club Championship events.  For these events points will be allocated for both time Trials and Club Championships
